About Us

We are Robert and Cindy Patterson. We are located in Tempe, Arizona or “The Valley of the Sun” and share our home with 7 boxers and a ridgeback mix. My wife and I have raised many breeds of dogs, but have been permanently owned by boxers since 1999.

By chance, I met Bruce and Judy Voran, of Strawberry Boxers, in Baltimore, Maryland. This was in May of 1997, while they were at the ABC National Show. They overheard a conversation I was having with a friend and introduce themselves. How strange, to meet someone from the Phoenix area all the way across the country. I kept their business card, but due to circumstances of raising a family, already having 2 dogs and a very hectic schedule as an airline pilot, I did not pursue another pet.

In 1999 and 2000 we purchased our first 2 boxers from local breeders. Both Rocky and Chrisi were purchased as pets. I had forgotten how much fun and full of life boxers were, until we purchase these 2. I had misplaced the card from Bruce. I did several searches for their website, but always came up empty. By total accident I found their website in January 2001. I was in total awe of their boxers. I finally got to visit their home and see what a “quality boxer” looked like. I inquired about a puppy, but they had no plans of having any litters in the near future. They informed me that Gayann Jones of R and G Boxers might have something.

My wife and I met Gayann in April of 2001 and as they say, “the rest is history”. We must thank Gayann and Randy Jones and Debbi Debruycker of R and G Boxers with 4 of their precious babies and for their guidance and mentoring, through the complex world of dog showing. We must also thank the Steele’s, Gary, Michelle and especially Kimberlie for their expertise in the ring.

Our first show boxer was Dallas, R and G’s Harry’s Pride. We showed Dallas for 1 year. He would consistently win his class, but did not accumulate any points.  He is now retired and spends his time protecting his favorite couch. Next came Austin, Ch. R and G’s Lonestar Cowboy. Austin finished his championship at 16 month of age. He has sired 2 litters and has 5 puppies showing.  Drew, R and G’s Fine Art, from Desert Boxers was our next show boxer.  Drew like Dallas showed for almost one year.  She consistently won or placed in her class, but did not accumulate any points.  She is now retired and gave us our first homebred champion, CH Belmar's Bayou Baby, Bubba . Our next purchase was Melody, CH R and G’s Love Song and McKenzie, R and G’s Dream Come True.  Melody finished her championship at 21 months.  McKenzie although conformationally sound did not like the show ring, so she stayed at home to give us a very special boy, Striker, CH Belmar's Desert Gold Strike.
